Stand Up Paddle (SUP) - Introduction

Get on the Water this Summer! 

Stand Up Paddling (SUP) is easy to learn and provides participants with a full body workout in a water sport that develops balance and strength without impact. No prerequisite is necessary other than an ability to swim and a desire for adventure!


Kingston has beautiful scenery which you will be able to explore while on the water (not to mention taking advantage of some fantastic selfie opportunities)!


June Session - Registration Deadline is Sunday, June 13.

July Sessions - Registration Deadline is Tuesday, June 29.

August Sessions - Registration Deadline is Thursday, July 29.

COVID-19 Protocol & Guideline

We are committed to providing the highest levels of safety for our community.  

To ensure player and staff safety, we have implemented mandatory 'Safe Return to Play Protocol & Guidelines' for all Club Activities.  In order to play with the Kingston Sport & Social Club and stay in good standing, the following guidelines MUST be followed.  A zero-tolerance policy is in place for those who challenge these decisions.   

To ensure a successful season, please remember to practice safe physical distancing and a positive attitude!

All players are required to read, understand, and adhere to all COVID-19 Guidelines.

Start / End Dates

June Session:


Tuesdays Session 1: Is a mix of Tuesday and Thursday evenings:

  • Tuesday, June 15th
  • Thursday, June 17th
  • Thursday, June 24th
  • Tuesday, June 29th


July Sessions:


Tuesday Session 2: Starts Tuesday, July 6 and ends on Tuesday, July 27.

Thursday Session 2: Starts Thursday, July 8 and ends on Thursday, July 29.


August Sessions:

Tuesday Session 3: Starts on Tuesday, August 3 and ends on Tuesday, August 24.

Thursday Session 3: Starts on Thursday, August 5 and ends on Thursday, August 26.

Classes run 6:00pm-7:30pm.


Bye Week

No bye-dates.  If a class is cancelled due to inclement weather, a make up class will be arranged.


Class Info

Stand Up Paddleboarding (SUP) is the world’s fastest growing water sport! It is pursued for relaxation, fitness, cross-training, and racing!


This course is ideal for those wanting to learn SUP using premium equipment while in the company of a certified instructor.


The first class will address safety, board care, and how to balance, paddle, and turn efficiently on calm waters. Weeks 2-4 will be touring days.  Ongoing instruction will facilitate skill progression and free time to practice will be provided. 


Individual Registration is $150 +HST.

Sport Info

KSSC's SUP programs operate in partnership with the Limestone Boat & Board Club (LBBC).

The LBBC is a Not-for-Profit Organization for the Limestone City to offer water activities for youth and adults with a focus on developing the sport of Stand-up Paddleboard (SUP) and SUP-Rowing (SUPR) activities. Learning the basics in both activities and innovation and development of a recreational individual activity in a group environment. SUP/SUPR introduces individuals to boat handling, SUP paddling, safety, training and conditioning in a fun group or individual setting. 

This provides an introduction to the sports for athletes of all ages to progress in recreational and competitive programs.

# of People per Class

12 people per class (two separate groups of 6 people).  Instructor to participant ratio is 1:6.

Required Equipment

All of the required equipment will be provided. Participants should wear athletic gear that can get wet and bring sunscreen and a water bottle.

About Your Instructor!

Your amazing instructor is Brad Brennan and is the President of the LBBC!  Brad is a Paddle Canada Advanced Flatwater certified instructor. Being in the outdoors makes Brad happy no matter the weather!  See you on the water!

Mandatory Requirements


1) All players are required to sign the online waiver (done during the registration process). 

2) Class day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all players prior to participation.

3) Players must maintain physical distancing of 2-meters before, during and after all activities.  This includes arriving on-site, resting/sitting on the sidelines, and departing the activity.

4) No Spectators are allowed under any circumstance (this includes kids and pets).



Participants must wear a PFD (it is encouraged participants bring their own life jacket, however are provided) and sign a waiver form. Instruction will be provided by a Paddle Canada Advanced Flatwater certified instructor. 


SUP Classes take place in partnership with the Limestone Boat & Board Club who are located at Rotary Park (1285 Coverdale Drive).
