Kayaking - Sunset Paddle LIVE!

 

Nothing is better than spending a few hours kayaking and enjoying watching the sun set! Join us for KSSC's kayaking program and enjoy the Summer on the water!

 

Explore the 1000 Islands in Gananoque with new friends, while watching the sun set, in a safe and small group format. Imagine getting active, being on the water and enjoying the 1000 Islands!

 

Registration remains open until the day before the session is about to begin!

All participants must adhere to physical distancing procedures and other safety protocols when on site.

COVID-19 Protocol & Safe Return

To ensure player and staff safety, we have implemented mandatory 'Safe Return to Play Protocol & Guidelines' for all Club Activities.  In order to play with the Kingston Sport & Social Club and stay in good standing, the following guidelines MUST be followed.  A zero-tolerance policy is in place for those who challenge these decisions.   

 

To ensure a successful Sprummer season, please remember to practice safe physical distancing and a positive attitude!


All players are required to read, understand and adhere to the following:

3 - League Representative Guidelines

4 - Self Screening Tool (done before each game). 

 

As well as:

 

  • Facility specific COVID-19 Protocols (you can find these protocols in the facility link in your schedule once live). 

Start / End Dates

Session 1 Wednesday: Begins on Wednesday, June 24 and ends on Wednesday, July 15. Completed!

 

Session 2 Wednesday: Begins on Wednesday, July 22 and ends on Wednesday, August 12.

 

Session 3 Wednesday: Begins on Wednesday, August 19 and ends on Wednesday, September 9.

# of Weeks

4 week programs.

 

If a participant misses a week, there is the option to re-schedule 1 of the 4 trips. Participants must notify 1000 Islands Kayaking if unable to attend a class in order to re-schedule for a future class. 

 

If a class is cancelled as a result of poor weather, you will receive a make up class. Your registration gives you 4 outings.

Session Time

The kayaking session will run from 6:00pm until dusk (approximately 9pm). *Note, start time may change to 5:30pm as the sun begin to set earlier in August.

 

Please arrive 15-20 minutes early.

Price

Individual Registration: $165 +HST.

Instructor to participant ratio is 1:8.

Bring a Friend!

Paddlers who register will receive 1 FREE 'Bring a Friend' during any of the 4 weeks that you are enrolled in. Registration required for friends directly with 1000 Islands Kayaking.

 

Mandatory Requirements

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS 


1) All players are required to sign the waiver and show on your Team's roster online. 

 

2) Game day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all players prior to participation.

 

3) Players must maintain physical distancing of 2-meters before, during and after all activities.  This includes arriving on-site, playing the sport, resting/sitting on the sidelines, and departing the game.

 

4) No Spectators are allowed under any circumstance (this includes kids and pets).

 

Required Equipment

Includes all kayaking equipment, dry bags for personal belongings, introductory lesson, national park permits and certified guides.

 

A few days before your first class, 1000 Islands Kayaking will e-mail you a list of what to bring and will provide more details about the program. 

Queen's University Athletics Partnership - SGPS Students Play for FREE!

Queen’s University Athletics has partnered with KSSC to offer FREE activities for members of the SGPS (Society of Graduate and Professional Students) this Summer!

 

How to register? Choose the program you are looking to participate in and register with the ‘manual’ option. Then you will need to email info@kssc.ca and provide them with your Queen’s Graduate Student Number and your Queen’s U e-mail address. Once received, your registration will be confirmed, and you are ready to play!

 

*A maximum of either 4 activities or $500 total registration fee per individual student.

 

Rules

There is one rule:

1) Participants must have fun!

2) Please arrive 15-20 minutes early as the class begins at 6:00pm sharp.

The Sunset Paddle program operates out of the 1000 Islands Kayaking location in Gananoque (110 Kate Street).  Gananoque and the 1000 Islands offer the best and most enjoyable kayaking in all of Ontario.
