Rise and Shine!  It's time to make the most of Winter!


Are you looking to hike in a group but don't have the group to do it with? Are you looking to connect with new people this Winter? Then it's time to take a hike with KSSC!



Enjoy the beautiful landscapes of the Kingston region in this NEW outdoor social program. This is a great way to meet outdoor-oriented people, feel the fresh air and get your dose of exercise in. 



Get into the habit of hiking by joining KSSC on Saturday or Sunday mornings (or both!) for a refreshing guided hike at a different trail each week.

 

COVID-19 PROTOCOL


All participants must adhere to physical distancing procedures and safety protocols when on site. 



Session 1 Registration deadline is Tuesday, January 12 @ midnight!

 

Session 2 Registration deadline is Tuesday, February 16 @ midnight!

COVID-19 Protocol & Guidelines

 

We are committed to providing the highest levels of safety for our community.  

 

To ensure participant and staff safety, we have implemented mandatory 'Safe Return to Play Protocol & Guidelines' for all Club Activities.  In order to participate with the Kingston Sport & Social Club and stay in good standing, the following guidelines MUST be followed.  A zero-tolerance policy is in place for those who challenge these decisions.   


To ensure a successful season, please remember to practice safe physical distancing and a positive attitude!


All participants are required to read, understand and adhere to the following:

2 - Player Guidelines

3 - League Representative Guidelines

4 - Self Screening Tool (done before each hike). 

 

As well as:

  • Facility specific COVID-19 Protocols (you can find these protocols in the facility link in your schedule once live). 

Start/End Dates

Session 1 Saturday Mornings: Starts Saturday, January 16 and ends on Saturday, February 6.

Session 1 Sunday Mornings: Starts Sunday, January 17 and ends on Sunday, February 7.

 

Session 2 Saturday Mornings: Starts Saturday, February 20 and ends on Saturday, March 13.

Session 2 Sunday Mornings: Starts Sunday, February 21 and ends on Sunday, March 14.

Hike Times

Hikers will meet at 8:00am at a designated location.

Each hike varies in length and time but will last approximately 1.5 - 3 hours in length, round trip.

Price

$40.00 + HST.

Schedule

The schedule will be posted online two days before you start. A welcome email will also be sent to provide you with additional program details, along with specific COVID-19 protocols.

Details

This is a outdoor social program.

 

Participants will be sent the meeting point and trail details ahead of time. Participants will meet the KSSC Representative and will embark the trail as a group.

 

Open skill level, everyone welcome. 

Mandatory Group Requirements

COVID-19 MODIFICATIONS 

 

  • This program will have a maximum of 25 participants per group (would be revised if there are changes to Provincial guidelines).  Once the first week has gone by, no additional participants will be added to the program.  

 

1) Hike day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all players prior to participation.


2) Participants must maintain physical distancing of 2-meters before, during and after all activities.  This includes arriving on-site, hiking, resting/sitting, and departing the location.

 

3) No Spectators are allowed under any circumstance (this includes kids, family, friends, etc). Only registered participants are able to participate.

Equipment
Requirements

COVID-19 LEAGUE MODIFICATIONS   

Participants are required to wash/sanitize their hands before and after each hike. Do not share water bottles, snacks or warm clothing with others.

Participants should wear a comfortable pair of shoes and clothing that suits the weather.

COVID-19 RULE MODIFICATIONS - Please refer to the sport rules page to view league rules.  It is the responsibility of all players to read and understand the sport specific rules as well as the general rules & club policies.

Hikes will take place at one of these locations (but not limited to):

  • Parrot's Bay (4976 Bath Rd, Kingston)
  • Lemoine Point (1440 Coverdale Dr, Kingston)
  • K&P Trail (South Frontenac Township)
  • Landon's Bay (302 – 1000 Islands Parkway, Lansdowne)

*The specific meeting point for each class will be communicated beforehand.
