SOCA Dancing - In The Park! *LIVE*

Soca Dance is here and we're taking it OUTDOORS!

Enjoy this unique and fun way to keep in shape, build confidence, and meet great people. Soca is an upbeat interpretive, unstructured dance that combines elements of Caribbean and African styles. Popular moves include quick footwork and hip movements, hopping, elaborate arm movements, head rolls and squatting.

The only requirements for Soca Dance classes are a positive attitude, laughter and a smile.  The rest comes by itself.  Whether for personal achievement, exercise, competition or for the simple pleasure of dancing... Just come and dance!

All participants must adhere to physical distancing procedures and other safety protocols when on site.

Feel the island heat in this popular style and sweat your weekly worries away. Soca is an exhilarating Caribbean dance originating from Trinidad and Tobago that blends energetic moves with African and traditional Caribbean dance movements performed to Calypso, Soca, Zouk, Reggae, and Dancehall.

Classes include a 35 minute lesson and 15 minute supervised practice, where individual attention will be given and 10 minutes static stretching.

Dance shoes are not required. Any comfortable outdoor shoe is fine as the class will be on grass.

What to wear? Comfortable, light-weight clothing. Ladies, watch out for hair accessories and big jewellery as they can get caught during quick movements. Skirts should not be too short or tight as they may restrict movement.

1) All players are required to sign the waiver and show on your Team's roster online.

2) Game day wellness checks “COVID-19 Self Screening” must be completed by all players prior to participation.
