Rowing *NEW*

 

Get out on the water this summer and try Rowing!

 

Have you ever watched rowing at the Olympics and wanted to try it out? Now is your chance!



This *NEW* program is designed for individuals with minimal or no rowing experience.  Learn all about this unique sport with an emphasis on fitness & fun!

 

This progam is in partnership with the historical Kingston Rowing Club.

 

Sprummer 2019 Details:  

Start/end dates

Tuesday: Classes begin on Tuesday, July 2 and ends on Tuesday, July 30.

 

*Note* In addition to the above dates, participants are required to attend a Learn to Row session on either Saturday, June 22 or Saturday, June 29 from 9:00am-12:00pm.  See the sport info tab for more information.

# of weeks

5 weeks + 1 learn to row session.

 

Class times

6:00pm-8:00pm (2 hours).

 

Price

Individual registration: $250 + HST

 

The price includes a $45 Rowing Canada fee.  KRC will help participants register online with Rowing Canada.

There are no bye dates.

What you need to know about Rowing;

Learn to Row Sessions

In order to make the most of the Tuesday evening program, participants are required to attend one Learn to Row session on either:

  • Saturday, June 22 9:00am-12:00pm.
  • Saturday, June 29 9:00am-12:00pm.  

This session consists of: viewing a safety video, instruction on the ergometer, dockside rowing and rowing with experienced rowers in a boat under the direction of a coach. 

# Of Participants

Rowing boats are either 2, 4 or 8 seats.  There will be a maximum 16 participants to 1 instructor.

 

Skill level

Open skill level, everyone welcome, no experience necessary!

 

What to bring

Participants should wear athletic gear that can get wet and bring sunscreen and a water bottle.

Rules

1) Participants must have fun!

2) Please arrive 15 minutes early as the class begins at 6:00pm sharp.

Location

Rowing classes take place out of the Kingston Rowing Club (1 Cataraqui Street).  The KRC boathouse is located on Kingston's inner harbour.
